Stage 3 of the BioGeelong Cluster Development Project has a total budget of $164,000 comprising $82,000 from City of Greater Geelong / BioGeelong Network Members and a grant of $82,000 from the Victorian Government's Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development.
Continuation of BioGeelong Cluster Facilitator Position
Dr Georgina Pearce was appointed as the new BioGeelong Cluster Facilitator and commenced on 04 February 2008, taking over from Dr Bree Gorman.
BioGeelong Investment Attraction Strategy: Development and Implementation
An experienced, independent facilitator will be engaged to work with the BioGeelong Steering Group and other key stakeholders such as peak industry bodies and Australian Biotech Industry 'decision makers' to develop an action orientated BioGeelong Investment Attraction Strategy. The investment Attraction Strategy will have an emphasis on 'rolling out' actions quickly.
Building the Skill Base: Inspiring Local Secondary School Students to Take-up Careers in Biotech
The aim of this project is to inform and excite local secondary school students about the career pathways available in biotechnology and life sciences and to build on the programs that were implemented in 2007.
Positioning Activities: Networking Events
Positioning activities include events and functions that raise the profile of BioGeelong, both internal and external to the Geelong Community and provide opportunity for the development of future collaborative projects.
