St John of God Pathology (SJGP) recently acquired the Geelong based Pathcare organisation which was at the time the largest privately owned Pathology practice in Australia. The combined organisation has extensive coverage across the greater Geelong region, the South Western areas of Melbourne and western Victoria. St John of God Pathology is now Australia's fourth largest pathology practice and is the largest practice not listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Much of their business has been built up by delivering critical services to regional and rural Australians in Victoria and Western Australia. St John of God Pathology employs close to 1,000 pathology staff nationally and provides services from 23 laboratories and 78 collection centres across Victoria and Western Australia.
